We take immense pride in creating a warm, safe and caring environment where children love to be. They arrive at school full of beans, go home happy and stimulated, looking forward to the next day. We treat each child as unique individuals, build strong relationships with them and their families and help them grow in all areas of their development.

We value each child and put them at the centre of whatever we do. We enjoy seeing our children grow and make progress while they are with us, and this is celebrated. Our aims: - Provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age. - Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop. - Add to the life and well-being of the local community. - Offer children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity.

As a member of Chawton Pre-School, your child is in a safe and stimulating environment. They will be given generous care and attention, because of our high ratio of adults to children. They have the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together.

We will help to advance their learning and development by building on what they already know. We allocate a personal key person who ensures your child makes satisfying progress. We aim to provide an environment that will enable your child to develop a range of skills, to prepare them for their future education and life. We believe that a firm basis of co-operation, communication and interaction between adults and the children is essential.

Prior to your child starting pre-school, you will be given the name of the key person who will work with your child to monitor their progress and development. The key person will be responsible for keeping you updated with your child’s progress and regularly share their developments with you. They will be your main point of contact with regards to your child’s learning. Please feel free to raise any other issues with the senior staff or management committee. Your child will also have a named co-key person to support the learning & development of your child and ensure their needs are always fully met even in the absence of their main key person.
